My Transformation Journey - Open Borders, Stories have no boundaries.

On December 1, 2024, I had the privilege of being a featured storyteller at “Open Borders: Stories Have No Boundaries," hosted by the Migrant Writers of Singapore. This event, held at the Bishan Public Library, Singapore brought together voices from diverse backgrounds to explore the theme of transformation and renewal through the power of storytelling.

On stage, I shared my deeply personal journey of rediscovery and resilience—a story that began in the isolation of the pandemic, where art became my sanctuary, my solace, and eventually my ikigai. From turning my bedroom into a makeshift studio to creating art inspired by nature and travel, this journey not only allowed me to grow as an artist but also as a person. Art became the bridge to a more meaningful life, helping me navigate challenges and inspiring others to find their creative voices.

I reflected on how art has brought me closer to the community—through fun and meaningful art jams, representing Singapore in international exhibitions, and bonding with people across cultures and experiences. More importantly, I emphasized how this creative journey has transformed me, making me more resilient and purpose-driven. The highlight of the event was the interactive panel discussion, where storytellers and the audience engaged in an enriching dialogue. We explored how our shared experiences during the pandemic shaped our personal and professional lives and how storytelling, art, and creativity became powerful tools for renewal and transformation.
